Q Is the assessment really free?
Q How long is the assessment ?
A The assessment could take as little as 15 minutes. However if you require more detailed information about our teaching methods, lesson structure etc then it could take 30 minutes and longer.
Q What will we do in the demo?
In the assessment, we will learn more about your goals and objectives for learning English, the level you are currently at and the level you need to reach.
Q Can I have a lesson using a tablet or Ipad?
A Yes, the majority of our students study this way with us.
Q Can I have a lesson using a chromebook?
A You can, as long as you can get a Skype connection you can use A chromebook.
Q Can I have lessons using a phone?
A Yes it is possible but not a method I would recommend as the screen is too small.
Q How fast does my Internet connection need to be?
A You must have a reliable broadband connection. The optimum speed for lessons is around 20Mbps.
Q What happens if we have a connection problem in a lesson?
A sometimes technology can be problematic, However, if we do have an issue with Skype or our connection problems then we will act quickly to fix things if the problem is on my side. However, this is extremely rare. If the problem is on your side then we will stay in touch with you by email to find out what’s going on and to see if we can reconnect as quickly as we can.
Q What sort of audio set-up do I need to have lessons?
A You should use a headset microphone to get the best possible audio quality in your lessons on Skype. You should not use the built-in microphone on a laptop because it tends to produce acoustic feedback.
Q Can I cancel a lesson?
A Yes. if you inform us 24 hours prior to your lesson we can re-schedule, however, if you cancel a lesson on the day of a scheduled lesson, then you will lose it from your package.
Q Do you use a webcam in your lessons?
A This is possible but we would prefer students to focus on the lesson content rather than on a webcam video.
Q How do I get the lesson after a class?
A Each lesson takes place in a Word document. We will share a Google Drive folder with you before you start studying with me where we will save all your lesson documents. This means you can access all your lesson materials from a shared folder in the cloud. To do this you will need a free Gmail email address.
Q How do I join a lesson?
A minute or two before we start, we will message you on Skype to ask if you are ready. You should then simply accept my Skype phone call.
Q How do we schedule lessons?
A We schedule the class prior to your preferred time and date by email or Skype or at the end of each lesson by looking at my Google calendar and choosing a day and time for the next class
Q In what general way do you teach?
A We teach online using Skype technology to talk with students.
Q How long is a lesson?
A Each lesson lasts for 60 minutes
Q How many students are in a lesson?
A We only ever teach one person at a time online it means you get the teachers undivided attention for the full 60 minutes
Q What happens if I am late for a lesson?
A If you know you are going to be late for a lesson, you should try and inform us about it if you can. If you are late for a lesson, your lesson will have to be cut short. If you are 20 minutes late for a lesson for example, then your lesson will have to be 40 minutes long.
Q How can I pay for lessons?
A You can pay for lesson in two ways: 1) Use your Paypal account 2) Use your credit card (Visa, Mastercard) through Paypal.
Q How much do your lessons cost?
A You can find the prices of the lessons on the prices page.
Q Will my lessons expire?
A Your lessons will expire if you take a break of more than 3 weeks after your last lesson without telling me about your plans. However if you inform me of your plans it is perfectly acceptable that we can take up the lessons at a later date.
